This week has plenty to musically delight from different Invented artists.
Tonight (Monday 2nd September) Francesco Turrisi features in a concert of the Gregory Walkers, 8pm in the National Concert Hall and tickets are only €15. Featuring Laoise O’Brien on Recorders, Malachy Robinson on Violone, Eamon Sweeney on Baroque Guitar and Francesco Turrisi on Percussion, the Gregory Walkers will be performing works from the 16th, 17th & 18th centuries from Ireland, Europe and the New World.
On Tuesday the 3rd of September, Isabelle O’Connell is over from New York to premiere a newly commissioned work by Andrew Hamilton. The concert will also include works by Missy Mazzoli, Kate Moore, Jennifer Walshe and Lainie Fefferman. The concert is at 8.30pm in the National Concert Hall and tickets are only €12.
On Thursday Kaleidoscope celebrates their 4th birthday with a splendid celebration in the Sugar Club. Co-artistically directed by Invented artist Kate Ellis, the concert will feature performances of Alessandro Scarlatti – Selection of Arias from ‘7 Ariel Con Tromba Sola'; Adrian Hart – Cuisle ‘s Tonnta (Irish Premiere); Zoe Conway (fiddle), John Mc Intyre (guitar)
Selection of works from their latest release: ‘Go Mairir i Bhfad _ Long Life to You'; Igor Stravinsky – The Soldier’s Tale (L’histoire du soldat); and Tan Dun – Concerto for Six. Tickets are €15 and there is a drinks reception at 8pm and the music starts at 9pm.
